Privacy PolicyMIT Sloan Management Review Privacy PolicyMIT Sloan Management Review (SMR) is committed to preserving your privacy and protecting your information. What We Collect and How We Use ItWe use your contact information that you provide (name, address, e-mail, telephone number, etc.) to process your order and maintain our transaction records. SMR employs cookie technology to maintain a visitor's browsing experience. When you register, subscribe or place an order online with MIT Sloan Management Review, your contact information is used to create and maintain certain access privileges. These features include access to protected content or your shopping cart, and are also used to enable your access for future visits to the site. In order to help evaluate how visitors and subscribers use and navigate our Web site, SMR tracks usage patterns. This information may include the number and frequency of visitors and subscribers to each Web page, and the length of their visits. These data are never matched to personally identifiable information. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. In order to enforce our Subscriber Agreement or Terms of Use, in special circumstances it may be necessary to disclose and use personally identifiable information. This may be for purposes of protecting our intellectual property rights, or when law requires us to do so. We do not share your e-mail address with any outside parties. We may possibly, from time to time, share your name and postal address with third party customers to provide you with information we feel may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive these mailings, please contact us (see below), indicating whether or not you are a subscriber to the journal. If you received a mailing from us, (a) your e-mail address is either listed with us as someone who has expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future ("opt-in"), or (b) you have registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We use an outside service bureau to manage our e-mail alerts. Each e-mail sent via this service contains an easy, automated way for you to cease receiving e-mail from us. You may also change your account information if you have registered to receive these e-mails. If you wish to do this, simply follow the instructions at the end of any e-mail alert. You may also receive transactional e-mails from our subscription fulfillment bureau, our reprints and permissions fulfillment service, or our subscriber access Web service. If you have received unwanted, unsolicited e-mail sent via these systems or purporting to be sent via these systems, please forward a copy of that e-mail with your comments to smr@mit.edu. Security of DataWe are committed to providing you with a safe online experience. The software we use for processing credit card payments employs secure encryption technology (SSL) to reduce the possibility of theft, manipulation and other alteration of any information that you provide to us. We never store your credit card information longer than necessary to process your payment. Privacy Policy ChangesAny changes to our policy will be posted on this page. This policy was last revised on January, 10, 2006. Contact UsIf you have questions or concerns about this policy or need to update your customer information, please send e-mail to smr@mit.edu. |
